This website is designed with modern web standards in mind. It may not work reliably on older antiquated browsers, or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Generally the site is developed using the most recent stable version of Firefox and then I eyeball it on other major browser to make sure that there isn't anything obviously amiss. This includes:
Then I take a look at the website in various versions of IE to see if I can tweak it to not look hideous without any major work.
- IE8 — also works remarkably well. It has the same image aspect ratio problem and I have implemented a slightly different work around.
- IE7 — is somewhat functional. The blog pages render pretty well, although the login widget isn't laid out correctly. The gallery indexes and the galleries don't work quite correctly, although you can still browse through the pictures to see them. The experience isn't quite as good as any other browser, so I recommend using Firefox or at least upgrading to a more recent version of IE. I may, if I am in the mood for pain, write some workaround code for IE7 in the future, but do not count on it.
- IE6 — is totally untested. I have a couple of VMs floating around which have IE6 installed on them, but I am really not interested in supporting this browser. If you are still using IE6 then many websites will likely not work, and the fact that mine doesn't work for you is probably not your biggest problem.
