Hi. Just two short requests I would like to make:

If you see something on my web site which isn't working, please let me know. I write almost all of the code on this site myself, so you'd be doing me a favor. This would include things like: broken links or images, interactive forms which don't work, permission denied messages... that kind of thing.

If you are posting comments and you are a Complete Total Stranger [TM] to me it is cool if you post anonymously, but if you are someone I know either in real life, or someone I correspond with over the Internet, please include some sort of indication of who you really are. You can use an alias, initials, or include an e-mail address. If you use an alias it should be one that you regularly use and that I will recognize. If you include your e-mail nobody but me will see it.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Here is what a computer geek I am: while I was waiting to go over to brad's house for the Festivus last night I coded up a search engine for my web site using a SQL database and some perl. I don't really need one, I can grep for anything I want since I direct access to the files, and I don't get enough traffic to make it useful for anyone. It just seemed like an interesting thing to do. It may also have to do with the fact that in the winter months in New York, I don't really like to be outside when it's dark and cold.

See that little box up there by the twilight icon at the top of this page? Put in some text and type <ENTER> to find what you are looking for. For example, if you put "bradstock" in there you will find everything I have written about the annual back yard bash on my website.

I am going to go find something useful to do with myself.

I am thinking about moving The Twilight Report to LiveJournal. The new URL is/will be:

twilight.wdlabs.com

There are a number of advantages to this, including, but not limited to:

It will be more reliable, and will contain no advertising.

When I post entries to my blog at funny hours of the night it won't screw up the dates of existing entries because of a bug in the time zone compensation code.(*)

It has security features which allows my friends to read protected entries, while keeping all you stalkers out.(**)

My blog won't invariably turn into a game of PacMan.(***)

The truth is, however, I can't ask you guys to setup a LiveJournal just to read my random musings, because they are random, and only somewhat amusing, and if you are anything like me you are busy people. If, however, you already happen to have a LiveJournal account, add me as a friend there, and I will more thank likely add you back. My user name is plicease and once again, the URL is:

twilight.wdlabs.com

One other thing: If you are reading this rubbish and you still haven't said hi, please do so. I don't bite.

(*) I just made up the name of this bug, but it seems like a good explanation for it.
(**) Not that I've even had any stalkers since college, and even then they were more like pet stalkers.
(***) I do have to admit that I do enjoy playing the classics, but PacMan is not a mail client.
